THE GOSPEL

How can I have forgiveness of my sins, and eternal life?

God is the originator and creator of everything and everybody and has made you for a special purpose and plan. Do you want to know that purpose? After all, you would not exist if he had not created you!

Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

God the Creator has made man with an eternal soul (Genesis 1:26-27) to bring glory to him throughout eternity, but there is one big problem that hinders our ability to bring glory to God… the problem is our sin!
God created all things perfectly in the beginning, and gave mankind a free-will.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

OUR PROBLEM

He could have “programed” us to love and serve Him, but forced love is not real love. Unfortunately, the first two people (Adam and Eve) sinned against God and broke fellowship with our Creator who is absolutely loving and righteous. Their disobedience against God brought condemnation upon each of us!

Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

We are all sinners (Romans 3:23) and the Bible tells us that our sin separates us from fellowship with God, our Creator. Furthermore, our sin condemns us to eternal punishment in the lake of fire.

Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Notice, the list includes liars! We are ALL guilty of telling a lie, let alone several or all of the other sins listed here! Not one of us is exempt. What a huge problem!

THE SOLUTION

Thankfully, God in His mercy has given us hope! Jesus is the answer to our problem!

John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

In His unconditional love for us, God provided a sacrifice for our sins by sending His only Son (the second person of the Trinity), Jesus Christ into this world to pay the punishment of our sins by shedding His sinless blood as our sacrifice! The Son of God came to this earth in human flesh and allowed His own creation to mock Him, beat Him, and hang Him on a cross to die for our sins. This blood shed for us is the only thing that can wash our sins away! (1 John 1:7, Heb 9:13-14)

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

God the Father was satisfied by this sacrifice for our sins and promises to completely forgive anyone who will acknowledge his or her sin and by faith receive the free gift of eternal life (Ephesians 2:8&9) and forgiveness of sins made available by the blood of Jesus Christ. What an amazing gift of God’s love!

Many people seem to know about this gift God offers, but cannot look back to a point in their life when they admitted their sin to God and turned to Christ for deliverance from the penalty and power of sin. Can you remember a specific time in your life when you believed on Christ alone to forgive your sin debt once and for all and give you this free gift of eternal life? We could never to enough good works to ever earn this free gift (Titus 3:5). It can only be received by placing our faith/dependence on Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8&9)!

1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Acts 16:30-31 …what must I do to be saved? …Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…

God loves you and desires that you would believe on the Lord Jesus Christ in order to restore fellowship with your Creator and God! If you have not yet done this, I urge you to place your trust in Christ alone right now to receive this free gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ!
